"We're only a few months away from the official launch of the 2009 Porsche 911, but recent spy video from the Nürburgring suggests that a refreshed version of the 911 GT3 will follow for the 2010 model year. Like the forthcoming 911 Carrera, the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 gets only minor styling changes this time around. The reworked front end has been simplified with only three air inlets instead of five, while the front marker lights have been narrowed slightly. Tape over the taillights indicates a few minor changes to their design along with the switch to full LED illumination. It's hard to tell if the spoiler is full production spec, but it's certainly high enough to carry the GT3 tradition. Like the Carrera, the 2010 GT3's flat-6 engine will benefit from the addition of direct fuel injection. The new technology will deliver an extra 20 horsepower in the standard Carrera, so expect a similar bump to the GT3's current 415-hp rating. Displacement is expected to remain at 3.6 liters. "If you are lucky enough to be driving a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, you probably have the company's automated manual F1 gearbox helping you swap the cogs. With its faster-than-Schumacher shifts, the F1 tranny can make just about anyone feel like a pro. Unfortunately, it can also leave you stranded if heat build-up triggers the clutch sensor. Thus, Ferrari has instituted an official recall of all 612 Scagliettis that could be affected by this finnicky F1 gearbox. Altogether, 366 of the vehicles are being recalled to replace this sensor well as a related cable holder and magnet that might cause difficult shifting or even complete inoperation. Only model year 2005-2007 612s are affected. If you have one of these in your garage, then you will probably be hearing from your dealer shortly." -Courtesy of autoblog.com
"The new Audi A7 will set new standards for performance, elegance and quality in the fast-emerging luxury four-door coupe market, according to the German manufacturer. Audi is readying three direct-injection petrol engines for the A7: 2.8 FSI and 3.0-litre TFSI V6s and a 4.0-litre TFSI V8. Diesel options will include a 2.7-litre V6 unit, as well as both turbocharged and twin-turbocharged versions of the existing 3.0-litre V6 TDI. A six-speed manual gearbox will be standard, with the option of a seven-speed twin-clutch unit and a new seven-speed automatic. High-performance S7 and RS7 versions are being lined up. The RS7 will use a tweaked version of the RS6’s twin-turbo, 5.2-litre V10 engine, delivering 600bhp through quattro four-wheel drive and a new torque distribution system, which will make its debut on the S4." -Courtesy of germancarblog.com
We aren't fans of running from the police. There is, however, a gentleman in Sweden going by the name "Ghostrider" who seemingly makes a living videotaping chases he instigates. Due to his stunts in the past, the Swedish police aren't to fond of him, and when he's attempting something even crazier than before, the following chase ensues. Enjoy.
COBB tuning took early delivery on a JDM RHD Nissan R35 GT-R to begin early research on cracking Nissan's "uncrackable" ECU. True to COBB form, the cars JDM 112kph speedo was removed and the car put through it's paces in the 2008 Modified Magazine shootout. The best part?
Straight from the creators themselves, Nissan doesn't want you to rice out your GT-R. Check out COBB's blog for more information on their GT-R and the Modified Magazine Shootout.

"While we haven't driven the boosted Suzuki SX4t, we hear it's a scream. So when we caught wind of a special edition SX4 inspired by the automaker's participation in the World Rally Championship, our happy balloon was on its way to reaching capacity. It deflated quickly. No, the SX4 WRC isn't turbocharged, doesn't have any trick all-wheel-drive programming and is little more than a wannabe racer of the lamest variety. Think the OZ-edition Mitsubishi Lancer, but with half the cred and none of the good stuff. Instead, Suzuki Germany is attempting to cash in on the SX4's minimal rallying cred with the stock, 107-hp 1.6-liter four-pot, "rally design" 16-inch wheels wrapped in 205/60 R16 rubber, a body kit that includes a new front bumper and rear bumper and side skirts, and with a mesh grille and "carbon-look" detailing. Inside, Suzuki's German arm is all about budget bling with a leather shift knob, faux carbon fiber trim, navigation and privacy glass, plus keyless entry and starting. Thankfully, you won't be able to pick up the Suzuki SX4 WRC in the States, and for 19,500 euro, we somehow doubt the rally-ravens in Deutschland will be running to dealers with loans in tow." -Courtesy of Autoblog.com
The new M3 has garnered a lot of praise: a stratospheric redline, tons of power, and the same character that defines the M badge. But how well can the vaulted M hold up to it's Dinan tuned younger brother, the 335i? WebRidesTV.com has the scoop.
Yet another reason to like rally.
While the car may have blown all four struts and the driver destroyed several disc in his back, it doesn't get much better than a racecar getting airborn.
"Edo Competition has no qualms about taking positively perfect exotic machinery and tweaking it to suit customer's tastes. And when it comes to the paragon of rolling automotive masterworks, the Ferrari Enzo is arguably King of the Hill. While the Enzo isn't lacking in either the power or appearance department, that hasn't stopped Edo from making some subtle changes to the Enzo's exterior and powertrain. Edo began by replacing the intake with a revised ram-air system and a set of high-flow air filters, then worked its magic downstream with a set of headers similar to those in the FXX, along with a duo of high-flowing cats and a new exhaust system with remote-controlled, butterfly valves that allow the sound levels to be adjusted on the fly. All those bits are tuned through a modified ECU to produce 700 hp and 527 lb.-ft. of torque, which is sent through a heavy-duty clutch and on down to a retuned stock transmission that replicates the shift times of the FXX. The Enzo's factory rolling stock has been replaced with 19x10-inch wheels in front and 20x13-inch wheels in the rear, wrapped in Michelin tires sized 265/35 R19 and 335/30 R20, respectively. The wheels can be custom painted to the customer's specs and a new suspension package, with adjustable compression and rebound, has been developed to mimic the setup found on the FIA GT MC12. Edo claims that the sprint from 0 to 62 mph is estimated at 3.5 seconds and that the run from rest to 186 mph is dropped to 22 seconds flat. " -Courtesy of Autoblog.com
Modified Magazine recently held their annual tuner shootout, pitting the best privateers and companies against eachother in a battle of epic proportions. While we can't report the whole story (the issue hasn't hit the shelves quite yet), we can point you over to the COBB forums for a recap of their experiences at the event.
As you may have gathered, the COBB guys brought their tuned R35 GTR, Japan's new Godzilla, but when the competition comes from Turbo Lab, Skunk2, Crawford, Science of Speed, and BC Racing, it's anyone's game. Check it all out over at the COBB forums, and be sure to pick up the latest issue of Modified Magazine when it hits shelves later this month.
"We were highly impressed with G-Power's M5 Hurricane. After all, it's twin-supercharged V10 produced nearly 50% more power than stock and it had a top speed of 211 mph, which G-Power claims to be faster than any other street legal Bimmer. With the BMW M6 packing the same 5.0-liter V10, it was only a matter of time before it received the same treatment. Behold the G-Power M6 Hurricane! While the twin blowers are set for lower boost, only 6 psi compared to the M5's 10 psi, the M6 still produces a healthy 635 bhp @ 7300 rpm and 469 lb-ft torque @ 6300 rpm. This is good for a 4.5 second sprint to 60 mph and a top speed of nearly 200 mph. Not one to forget that appearance matters, G-Power also provides a new front and rear fascia, rocker panels, and carbon fiber rear diffuser along with 21-inch wheels that make room for a 15-inch brake system up front. M6 owners can drop off their car at G-Power's German headquarters or can order a fully assembled car starting at a mere 183,000 Euros. " -Courtesy of Autoblog.com
